SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS

Seminars vary in length from 45 minute presentations to full day events.  The most popular being the one hour presentation to trade associations, and multiple 2-3 hour sessions to corporate programs, as this leads to the best retention and ease of assimilating the new information.  All programs are customized to fit the needs of your association or corporate culture. Where applicable, extensive interviews, observation and research are conducted prior to the workshop.  Attendees are always pleasantly surprised how personalized their sessions turn out!

These programs are ideally suited for Corporate Retreats, Leadership Training & Team Building Events, Women’s Enrichment Day or as a part of Sales Training.  They are also popular choices and have consistently ranked among the highest in participant satisfaction for Professional Trade Associations, Breakout Sessions and Spouse Programs.

AUTHENTIC POWER FROM THE OUTSIDE IN: MASTERING YOUR IMAGE
The following are content-rich, entertaining programs that are highly interactive and lively.  Numerous demonstrations of clothing including before & after makeovers that are both live and spontaneous can be expected, as well as via multimedia demonstrations.

It’s well documented that we live in a visual society and that people judge others based on first impressions.  We also know how difficult it can be to reverse that initial judgement, whether it was a positive one or not.  Appearance is more than our clothes alone, it’s the whole package: our clothes, makeup (for women), eyeglasses, hairstyle, posture, the way we walk and talk, our voice, demeanor and overall energy, all play a roll in defining our image.

The ultimate goal of these programs is to have your team members exude confidence and credibility and to command respect and authority from their clients and colleagues.  It’s not only dressing the part, but becoming aware of the image they’re projecting, and aligning that with what is within themselves in order to achieve authentic and genuine results.

Your team will learn new strategies and specific tools to achieve their unique image goals.  The following are examples of possible outcomes:
  • Become conscious of the image they are projecting in order to increase their success rate.
  • Understand the psychology behind the colors they choose and how to use color to their advantage especially during negotiations with prospects and clients.
  • Get tips on selecting appropriate attire for work while staying true to their authentic self.  This ensures they exude self assurance with their clients while remaining comfortable in their own skin.
  • Select the most flattering styles, fabrics, proportions and colors to create a professional look that will enhance their best features and camouflage the less attractive ones.
  • Spice up their wardrobe with some trends that will work regardless of their style personality or budget.
  • Get more mileage out of their existing clothes by adding some key essentials.
  • Learn tips to update hairstyle, eyeglasses and makeup* that may be adding years to their age. (*Makeup is for women only programs).
  • Put it all together with the right accessories!  Accessories are more than just jewelry.  From the briefcase they carry to the pen that they use and everything in between speaks volumes about them and their image.
  • Best of all, your team will learn to command immediate credibility, authority and respect, while incorporating their own unique personality traits!

MASTERING THE INVISIBLES
To be truly powerful is to stand strong in who you we and in our subject of expertise, to exude a quiet confidence and self assurance when we are around others and to elicit authority and respect from clients and colleagues.  People who posses these indescribable or indefinable qualities tend to be better sales people and stronger negotiators. These qualities are what I call “The  Invisibles”; the subtle nuances that will help set your team members apart from their competition.  No matter how good a person’s outward appearance may be, a faux pas here could negatively impact a relationship with a potential client.

Your team will learn new techniques and brush up on old skills so they come across as genuine, credible and authoritative while maintaining their uniqueness of spirit.  Clients sense when someone is being authentic and they prefer doing business with people they like rather than someone who is simply “playing a part”.  Give your team members the upper hand while negotiating by offering them the opportunities to master these valuable “invisible” skills.  Here is a sample of topics covered:

Business, Networking, and Boardroom Know-How - Social media may be the way to go, but it will never replace the fundamental face-to-face networking that’s crucial to building and maintaining prosperous relationships.
  • Social savvy and networking skills
  • Proper handshakes and introductions
  • What and when to eat & drink at business/social functions
  • Conversation starters and taboo topics
  • Dressing the part
  • Attracting positive attention
  • Boardroom presence
  • Universal Body Language:

Universal Body Language
- Add more tools to your professional arsenal by being acutely aware of all of your non-verbal communication skills.   Keep your body from giving you away and undermining your image.
  • Become more deliberate about the message you want to send out.
  • Learn to come across with greater confidence, self assurance and respect.
  • Use key factors such as posture, walk, gestures, voice and verbal cues
  • Develop your intuitive side and see how changes in energy or demeanor can positively influence or hinder client relations.

Dining with Ease -
With so much business conducted over a meal, it’s essential to feel at ease while sealing the deal over a meal!
  • Avoid the most common blunders while discussing business over a meal
  • Host/hostess duties
  • Optimal table selection including seating positions of power
  • What to order and how to eat it
  • When to bring up the topic of business
  • Bread & butter plate/ water glass placement
  • Proper utensil guidelines
  • Paying for the meal
  • Making conversation and keeping it flowing!
